As we move into the summer months, Women’s Centres Connect continues to reflect on the importance of community-based care, safety, advocacy, and connection across Nova Scotia.
Women’s Centres play a vital role in supporting women, girls, gender-diverse people, families, and communities. This work is rooted in trust, relationships, lived experience, and the belief that people deserve access to care and support close to home.
June also brings several important days and months of awareness that deeply connect with the work of Women’s Centres across the province. From Pride Month and National Indigenous History Month to Seniors Month in Nova Scotia, World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, World Refugee Day, and National Indigenous Peoples Day, this month invites us to reflect on how safety, justice, inclusion, and community care are connected. Find out more about June's awareness dates here.
As there will be no July or August newsletter, we are also looking ahead to key summer dates that remind us of the ongoing work needed to build safer, more equitable, and more supportive communities.
