Women's health has been acknowledged as an integral component of public health and addressing women's unique healthcare needs is crucial for achieving overall community well-being. All nine of the Women’s Centres are a supportive ecosystem for women's health.
Every day, we bring together resources and advocate for collaboration between governments, healthcare providers, and communities. By fostering a safe environment that values women, we break down barriers to access, reduce stigma, and promote holistic health and well-being for women throughout rural Nova Scotia. So during April, join us as we raise awareness around World Health, Denim Day, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and take part in a local StartbyBelieving Campaign.

Empowering Women: A Pledge for Global Health on World Health Day - April 7th

This April 7th, communities, organizations, schools, and many others will observe the UN World Health Day 2024. First celebrated in 1950, World Health Day marks not only the anniversary of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) foundation but is used to draw international focus to priorities in global health.
